Information on Further Planned Strike Action

27 September 2023

The University and College Union (UCU) has called for additional strike action across the six Regional Colleges of Further Education between September and November 2023. This strike action is being taken by some College lecturers as a result of the failure of Trade Unions and Management to reach agreement on a future pay award for lecturers. While the College respects the right of lecturers to take strike action, it is regrettable that this action is being taken, as it is likely to impact learners across the College who have scheduled classes taking place on the dates shown below.

Not all staff members will necessarily be affected by the strike action, and support services and facilities within the College will still be operating as normal. However, we assure you that we are preparing for this and making necessary arrangements to ensure minimal disruption to your studies.

The College remains committed to working with Trade Unions to deliver sustainable pay awards for our lecturers and sincerely hope that the dispute can be resolved as soon as possible and that the disruption to learning is minimised.
