Overview

This course is recommended as a follow on course from Level 2 Diploma in Barbering and is designed for those who work in or wish to further pursue a career in the barbering industry. The Level 3 Diploma in Barbering provides the necessary skills and knowledge that prove occupational competence as a senior barber.

Applicants must hold a Level 2 in Barbering or equivalent.
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age on or before 1st of July in the year of proposed entry to course.
Applicants must demonstrate at interview that they have a satisfactory level of fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Applicants must demonstrate the attributes of motivation and initiative to participate in the programme and a desire to succeed in completing their chosen course.
Early application is recommended.
You will be required to purchase your own barbering kit and dolly heads for training.
Professional attire consisting of black trousers, top and shoes/uniform is compulsory and must be worn in all practical sessions.

Provide client consultation services.
Creatively cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques.
Design and create a range of facial shapes.
Provide shaving services.
Colour and lighten men's hair.
Develop, enhance and evaluate your creative hairdressing skills.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities.

Assessment is by practical observations, oral questioning, online tests and completion of a portfolio of evidence.

On successful completion of this course, you may progress to the Level 5 Diploma in Hair and Beauty Management.

On successful completion of this course, you can seek employment in the barbering industry.
