CYBER SECURITY Level 5

Important Information

Please note your application will not be considered until all the necessary documentation is uploaded.

Upon receipt of your application and uploaded evidence, you will be invited to attend an online Pre-Enrolment Advice Session. It is essential you attend this session.

• At least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics at Grade C or above (please upload official certificates to the SRC application portal).
  
• ICT skills of sufficient ability to allow the learner to successfully undertake the qualification.
  

Priority will be given to applicants who have completed the Level 4 Certificate in Cyber Security

This course is funded through the SkillUP Flexible Skills Fund. All applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

• Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before the course start date
• Applicants must be eligible to work in Northern Ireland
• Applicants must be ‘settled’ in Northern Ireland, and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years; or are a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK
• Candidates are only permitted to complete a maximum of two free courses at a time

The objectives of the qualification will cover the following areas in relation to cyber security:

• Computer security technology and principles management tools
• Software security & trusted systems
• Cryptographic algorithms & network security
• Management issues

This course will be assessed through coursework throughout the duration of the course.

The OCN NI Level 5 Certificate in Cyber Security will enable learners to progress to higher level qualifications in the areas of information technology and/or cyber security.

This qualification may assist learners to gain employment in occupations requiring the safe and secure use of information technology.
