Overview

There is a demand for skilled and qualified motor technicians and employers increasingly need committed, well trained and enthusiastic workers. By completing this course you will increase your skills, knowledge and performance and become a valuable team member.

This qualification is for students wishing to specialise in the maintenance, repair and fault diagnostics of vehicle systems. Diagnostic knowledge is established through classroom and workshop based training and practice covering engine systems, chassis systems, transmissions and auxiliary electrical systems. This knowledge and the associated skills are developed in the application and use of a range of modern test equipment.

This qualification will demonstrate to an employer that you have gained the right knowledge and experience to help them in their business and encourage them to invest in you and your career.

The course provides vocationally related knowledge and skills which will improve employability within these vocations. Successful completion of units or the full award can contribute to the achievement of a VCQ when employed.
