Kingspan
“Kingspan Water & Energy have been working in partnership with SRC for many years, assisting with student placements and more recently with Higher Level Apprenticeships. This has been very successful, and we have several former SRC students as full-time employees. Kingspan recognise the need to cultivate and develop young talent and the HLA programmes are an excellent route to achieve this. Not everyone wants to be a computer coder and not all businesses require coders. However, most businesses today need competent and technically aware staff because every business depends on complex infrastructure and software applications. The new Level 5 Open University Foundation Degree in Cloud Computing, Analytics and Security for Industry Higher Level Apprenticeship at Southern Regional College better meets our needs as a business because of the broad scope of topics covered. Candidates will come to Kingspan with a better foundation of skills and knowledge in the areas of cyber security, application integration and data analytics."
Wood Innovations
“At Wood Innovations we are delighted to have been involved in the Higher Level Apprenticeship programme with SRC. We currently have two HLA students at our company - one in Marketing and one in Finance. This has been a fantastic opportunity for both us as an employer and the employee/student. We have been exposed to new and innovative techniques in both of these areas of the business, through the studies undertaken by our HLA students and both students have been able to put into practice what they have been learning in College. We have a five year growth plan in place and look forward to continuing our work with SRC in the future through the development of our people at Wood Innovations."
Mackle Petfoods
“At Mackle Petfoods, people are our most valuable asset, and we understand the importance of developing our team. Our commitment to this principle is demonstrated through our continued involvement in the Higher Level Apprenticeship programme. Over the years our collaboration with SRC has yielded remarkable results in enhancing our workforce in our Engineering and Marketing departments and we would like to extend the HLA programme internally to include IT, Finance and Factory Management opportunities. We expect high standards of dedication and commitment from our apprentices, and in return, we provide unwavering support to guide them to become an integral part of our business. We rely on their fresh perspective to contribute to their respective roles while gaining extensive mentorship, training, and practical experience. In the future we plan to maintain and develop our partnership with SRC by recruiting HLA students to our expanding business and equipping them with a solid foundation of skills and experience as they embark on their professional journeys”.
